What is it about coaching?

If someone had told me five years ago that I’d become a coach, I’d probably have laughed and asked, “What does a coach even do?” Back then, the term was a bit of a mystery to me—I’d heard it tossed around but didn’t really know what it was all about.

Fast forward to now, and after a couple of snap decisions last year to invest in courses (without overthinking—me, impulsive? Never!), I’m genuinely excited about this new thread in my future. Coaching has become something I’m not only passionate about but also deeply believe in because of how transformative it can be.

So, what is it about coaching?

Think about it: when was the last time you made a decision that wasn’t influenced—even just a little—by someone else? Whether it’s family, friends, or even what’s trending online, our thoughts and choices are constantly shaped by outside opinions.

As a parent, I’ve rarely chosen a meal entirely based on what I wanted, let alone made big life decisions without factoring in other people’s needs or unsolicited advice. Sound familiar? Now, ask yourself: when was the last time you truly paused to think about what you want, need, or desire?

That’s where coaching comes in.

Coaching gives you the space to focus entirely on you—your goals, your decisions, your life. It’s not about advice, gossip, or digging into every detail of your story. It’s about me asking the right questions to help you discover your own options, needs, and next steps.

I have no agenda. I’m not here to steer you in a particular direction. My role is to gently nudge you toward clarity and new discoveries. Coaching is like holding up a mirror—you get to see what’s already within you, but perhaps from a perspective you hadn’t considered before.

Whether you’re facing a big decision, feeling stuck, or just want to reconnect with your goals, coaching can be the nudge you need to move forward.

And trust me, it’s amazing what can happen when you finally give yourself permission to focus on you.
